Step 1 The Basics

                                                          The Basics

So you've decide to build your own PC. Building a PC is the most satisfying thing if you like technology and DIY. In this process you are going to learn a lot about the in and outs about one of the greatest invention of a mankind. Plus you are going to save a lot of money. You will also get to choose the individual parts that you need based on your requirements and you can upgrade it whenever you want.

So building a PC is not a easy challenge but the satisfaction after completing it and to seeing it turn on is a great feeling. It’s kind of like assembling flat-pack furniture or a set of LEGO with instructions. Everything fits together in a very specific way. If you follow this guide, you’ll be just fine.

Parts You Need:

Case

Case: A case is what will  hold everything. Cases come in many form factors like mid-tower, full-tower, E-ATX, ATX, m-ATX etc. Choose it according to your preference.

PSU

PSU: PSU or power supply is the device that regulates the electricity that goes into the PC. It will provide the power required by individual components. It always advised to buy a well made power supply of a reputable company.

Motherboard
MotherboardThe motherboard is a platform that holds all the parts and components in a computer. It links the various components of a computer, including expansion cards, hard drives, memory and peripherals as well as handling communication and transmission between these devices. You need to choose the chipset and other variables based on your requirements.

CPU
CPU: CPUs are the brains of computers, mainly responsible for interpreting computer instructions and processing the data in computer software. There are two major CPU making companies out in the market: Intel and AMD. They both have their own advantages.

RAM/Memory: This is a crucial component of your computer’s operation. You need to choose RAM which is compatible with your motherboard. Minimum of 8gb is advised for windows OS.

GPU: This is optional and is only really needed if you plan to do some gaming or intensive workloads. In that case, spend as much as you can.

SSD

Storage: Storage is hard drive (HDD) or solid state drive (SSD), the part of the computer that holds the operating system and all your digital files. SSDs are much faster than hard drives, and are highly recommended these days, though HDDs are generally and cheaper.

CPUs produce a lot of heat. High temperatures can cause the system to shut down in order to protect important components, and may even cause permanent damage. Fans and heatsinks are thereforenecessary in order to keep the CPU running cool. Most CPUs come with a CPU cooler which can meet basic demands for heat dissipation. For better system performance, you should buy a better CPU cooler. The cooler can be classified in terms of heat dissipation medium into two types: liquid cooling and air cooling.
Now for the peripherals. You are going to need a monitor, keyboard and mouse for your input and output. We will talk about it later. So after choosing the parts according to your requirement and budget, lets get building.
